Hiking

We went hiking with my Papa, my nephews Rene and Marko and their dad Sepp to a lake way up in the mountains. It was beautiful. Shaun took tons of pictures. I posted here a few of the best. We had a very nice time and enjoyed the exercise.
Wir waren wandern mit meinem Papa, meinen Neffen Rene und Marko und ihrem Vater Sepp. Wir sind zu Edelrauthuette gegangen und dann weiter zu einem Gebirgssee rauf. Es war sehr schoen und idyllisch. Shaun hat sehr viele Fotos gemacht - hier sind ein paar von den Besten. Wir hatten Spass und die Bewegung hat uns auch gut getan.









The lake water was really cold and very clear, so chilly that the tree trunk in the water doesn't even rotten! It was amazing.
Das Seewasser ist so kalt dass der Baumstamm nicht mal verrottet! Es ist total cool anzuschauen.



Shaun even got to touch the cow! And ever since "cow" is Lilly's favorite word for any large animal. Never mind that I tried to teach her the German word for it for two weeks before that.
Shaun hat die Kuh sogar gestreichelt! Seit dem ist "cow" Lilly's Lieblingswort fuer jedes grosse Tier. Dass ich ihr fuer zwei Wochen davor "Kuh" beibringen wollte hat da ueberhaupt nichts gezaehlt.

Stift Admont

On yet another rainy day we took Rene and Lilly to Stift Admont, a monestary not too far away from home. They have several museums and the largest monestary library in the world. It was really interesting and the kids enjoyed it as well. I was almost surprised how well Lilly did in the museums. It helped that there were a lot of things to look at. This is the church and some of Shaun's shots from the inside. It is beautiful and so very old.

An einem anderen regnerischen Tag sind wir mit Rene und Lilly ins Stift Admont gefahren. Dort gibt es mehrere Museen und die groesste Stiftsbibliothek in der Welt. Es war sehr interessant und die Kinder haben Spass gehabt. Es hat mich fast ueberrascht wie brav unsere Maus war. Natuerlich war sie fasziniert mit all den Sachen die sie gesehen hat und Rene hat die Aufmerksamkeit auch genossen. Das ist die Stiftskirche und ein paar von Shaun's Fotos. Die Kirche ist sehr schoen und auch alt.

Fun in the pool

Lilly loved playing in her Opa's backyard. She had a great time with two cups. He extra put the pool up for her.
Lilly hat es genossen bei Opa hinterm Haus im Wasser zu spielen. Zwei Becher ist alles das sie brauchte um Spass zu haben. Opa hat das Schwimmbecken extra fuer die Kleine aufgestellt.


On one of those rainy days Shaun and I took our godson Rene and Lilly to the indoor pool. We had a great time playing for hours in the water and having french fries for a snack.
An einem regnerischen Tag haben Shaun und ich unseren Patensohn Rene und Lilly nach Spital am Phyrn ins Hallenbad mitgenommen. Wir haben stundenlang im Wasser gespielt und die Zeit zusammen genossen. Als kleine Leckerei gabs Pommes - das hat uns allen geschmeckt.

My favorite picture of my dad and my brother Martin - it is very hard to get a picture of them when they are natural. What's more natural than eating a whole cake alone?
Mein Lieblingsfoto von Papa und meinem Bruder Martin - es ist furchtbar schwer ein natuerliches Foto von den beiden zu bekommen. Und was ist natuerlicher als eine ganze Torte alleine essen zu wollen?

Martin und Marko. Martin besteht darauf dass Marko ein Geheimnis hat weil er immer so brav ist. Er ist einfach wunderbar mit Kindern.

Shaun was playing with the girls and Marko in the sandbox for a very long time - the girls and Shaun built stuff, Marko destroyed it :) We discovered that Lilly loves sand!
Shaun hat mit den Maedels und Marko ewig im Sand gespielt - die Maedels und Shaun haben alle moeglichen Sachen gebaut, und Marko hats wieder zusammengehauen :) Wir haben rausgefunden wie sehr Lilly sandspielen liebt!
