We are going to have a little boy in February! We are very excited! The ultrasound confirmed that he is healthy and that my pregnancy is two weeks further along than we thought. I'll soon post some ultrasound pics.
Wir werden im Februar die stolzen Eltern eines kleinen Jungen werden! Wir freuen uns sehr! Der Ultraschall hat bestaetigt dass es ein gesunder Junge ist und dass ich schon zwei Wochen weiter in meiner Schwangerschaft bin als wir dachten. Ich werde bald Ultraschallfotos aufs Blog machen.

Power Outage Fun
We tried to make the best out of the time we spent without power. Lilly played even more outside than usual, and we all got a bit of extra sleep.
Shaun had his own ways of killing time. One evening he came home from work with this poster. I find it hilarious! It shows his way of finding the positive in about anything. The board was posted in front of our house.

Fun at the Zoo
We went to the zoo with B and C. The little ones had a bunch of fun and we saw a lot of animals that were terribly misnamed :) With Lil everything bigger than a donkey and she doesn't know is a cow. It's funny to listen to. She loved the train and didn't want to get off the thing when we were done. We had a very nice day, including wet pants, three-tire-strollers, and a strong-willed critter.
Wir sind mit B und C zum Zoo gegangen. Die Kleine hatten viel Spass und wir haben viele verschiedene Tiere gesehen dessen Namen oft verwechselt wurden. :) Fuer Lilly alles groesser als ein Esel dass sie nicht kennt, ist eine Kuh. Das hat wohl damit zu tun dass Papa ihr die Kuehe in Oesterreich hautnah auf der Alm gezeigt hat. Wir hatten einen schoenen Tag, mit nassen Hosen, kaputten Kinderwagen, und sturkoepfigen Maedels.

Favorite Bubbles
We used the last few warm days to play a bunch outside. Lilly loves to get her toycar and her bubble machine out of the shed. She has tons of fun and loves to dance all around the yard with the bubbles. She got that thing from my brother Martin and she is crazy for it.

Cider Festival
A couple of weekends ago we went to the Cider Festival at Hidden Valley Farm in Springboro. We saw a bunch of farm animals and got to feed them, played on a nice playground, listened to live Bluegrass (a treat for Shaun), ate appledumplings, funnel cake, all kinds of apples, and Lilly got to ride on little train. We were surprised that she wasn't scared.
Vor zwei Wochen waren wir bei einem Apfelfest. Wir haben Bauernhoftiere gesehen und gefuettert, auf einem schoenen Spielplatz gespielt, Bluegrass Musik angehoert, sehr gute Mehlspeisen gegessen, einige verschiedene Aepfel probiert, und Lilly ist auf einem kleinen Zug gefahren. Sie hatte Spass und wir waren ueberrascht dass sie sich nicht gefuerchtet hat.

We spent about two months being sick. This was one of these days were we just wore compfy clothes and hung out all day. Papa has the same shirt - their first matching outfit :) Just because she was sick didn't mean that she couldn't play all day!
Wir waren gut zwei Monate krank und das war einer dieser Tage. Wir haben bequeme Klamotten angehabt und haben den ganzen Tag gefaulenzt. Das Leiberl hat sie von Papa bekommen - er hat das Selbe. Wir haben den ganzen Tag gespielt obwohl sie krank war.
We went out for my birthday - the ribs were great, but that was the beginning of our sick-streak. She has this look on her face, saying: "I wanted my milk shaken, not stirred! Really, is it that hard?"
Wir sind fuer meinen Geburtstag zum Essen ausgegangen. Die Rippchen waren sehr gut, aber das war der erste Abend wo wir wirklich krank geworden sind... Lil scheint etwas genervt mit der Kellnerin.

Das ist ein riesiger Spielplatz der meinen Nichten und Neffen auch sehr gut gefallen wuerde. Das Museum ist nur fuenf Minuten von uns weg und wir haben eine Jahresmitgliedschaft, deshalb sind wir auch oft dort.

Three more days...
In three more days we'll have an ultrasound and hopefully figure out that its a healthy little boy or girl :) I am excited! It's weird because this time around I don't seem to be as aware of my pregnancy as I was with Lil. I guess I am just so busy with other stuff and Lilly that I don't have the time for it. I really notice it when it comes to my eating habits - I was obsessed with healthy foods during my first pregnancy, now I just make sure I get enough veggies and fruit. I hope this isn't too bad.
In drei Tagen haben wir den ersten Ultraschall und hoffentlich werden wir rausfinden dass das Baby gesund ist und was es sein wird. Ich freue mich schon darauf! Es scheint dass ich dieses Mal meine Schwangerschaft nicht so wahr nehme wie beim ersten Mal. Es ist einfach so viel mehr los - ich hab' nicht so viel Zeit mich auf die Schwangerschaft zu konzentrieren. Ich hoffe das macht mich nicht ein schlechte Mutter! Ich merke es vor allem wenn es zum Essen kommt - mit Lilly hab' ich mich total auf eine ausgewogene, gesunde Ernaehrung konzentriert, jetzt schaue ich einfach nur dass ich genug Gemuese und Fruechte esse...

Where does time go?
I can't believe its been two weeks since I posted last! Here is what happened in a few words:
Lil learned some new words * went to check-up: 27.5 lbs, 33 inches, 80 percentile for weight and height * went to the zoo with friends * Lil loves the train and carousel * she is big into cleaning * she started having bad dreams = not much sleep * Shaun is really sick and we can't figure out what it is * lots of doctor appointments * 18 weeks pregnant today
Of course, there are many other things that are going on, but I am too tired to think of them. A big thank you to mom and dad for helping out with laundry (power outage) and with Lilly!
I'll post some pics by this weekend. I am using Shaun's old camera and my laptop doesn't recognize the card reader, so its difficult to actually use the pictures.
